Advertorial Supplement:
On Saturday, Executive Chef and Owner of Provecho Grill, Rosie O’Connor, will compete in an all-day Paella festival and competition. The Dia De Paella event is set to feature a grape stomp, paella tastings with wine pairings, live music, entertainment, a silent auction, and vendor booths.
"It's going to be a lot of fun," says O’Connor.
Presented by Frangipani Estate Winery and Cougar Vineyard and Winery, this classy event will combine top-notch food with local wine; what could be better? The event will take place in between both wineries which are connected by a walking path. There are seven restaurants competing all together, so festival attendees will have the chance to sample a good variety of different takes on a classic dish. Competing restaurants/ chefs include; Menifee’s own Provecho Grill, Catalan Mediterranian Cuisine, Flamingo Palms Cuban Cafe, La Bella Vita Italian Restaurant, La Cocina Bar and Grill, Paellas Minueto, and Viva Vino Wine Bar and Tapas.
As a well-travelled chef, O’Connor creates all of her own recipes from scratch using fresh, authentic ingredients often with a modern or unexpected twist. You won’t want to miss the chance to taste her potentially award winning Paella.
Attendance is limited to the first 200 ticket sales and then the event is sold out, so come early to ensure admittance. Each ticket price includes entry to the all-day event, paella tastings, wine tastings and a keepsake Dia de Paella logo wineglass, participation in the grape stomp, and live entertainment. Peruvian singer and songwriter Melissa Miro Quesada will be serenading the crowd along with the local Latin Sol Band. Vendor booths are set to include a cigar roller, massage therapy, jewelry, a Latin painter, women's clothing, Chicks with Bark, Cupcakes by Jewel Heather Bloom Photography, and Mad Mike's American Gourmet.
There will also be a silent auction will the proceeds benefiting No Kid Hungry, and a portion of ticket sales will be donated to No Kid Hungry as well.
