On Nov. 13, 2013, investigators from the Perris Station conducted compliance checks of several sex registrants in the Cities of Menifee, Perris and surrounding unincorporated areas. The purpose of the sweep was to ensure that convicted sex offenders were in compliance with the law mandating they register their home address with local law enforcement.
A total of 23 addresses were inspected and 16 sexual offenders were determined to be out of compliance (not residing at their address of record). Warrants will be issued for their arrests, for violation of 290.018 of the California Penal Code.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department will continue to conduct compliance checks on convicted sexual offenders residing in our communities.
