Update at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday: David Allen Soto is still missing and authorities are seeking the public's help. If you have any information about his disappearance, call one of the numbers below.
The Wildomar Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a special needs student who left the campus of Elsinore High School without permission this morning.
Officers responding to Elsinore High, located in the 21000 block of Canyon Drive in Wildomar, were told David Allen Soto, 18, of Wildomar was last seen leaving the campus at approximately 8 a.m. School staff conducted a search of the surrounding area, but Soto could not be located.
According to police, further investigation revealed Soto is autistic and suffers from schizophrenia. He has the mental capacity of a 15-year-old. Soto currently takes prescribed medications due to his condition. His parents were also contacted and notified of the circumstances. The investigation is ongoing.
Soto is described as a Hispanic male adult, 6 feet tall, slim build, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve Lakers hoodie with blue Levi pants and black tennis shoes.
