Police today released the identity of the man found murdered in an open field in Homeland last week.
The body has been identified as that of Martin Equihua, 26, of Mead Valley. According to investigators, several several armed men entered Equihua's residence in the 20800 block of Orange Avenue in Mead Valley about 2 a.m. on Nov. 7. The armed men tied up the homeowners, kidnapped Equihua and took his vehicle, a 2007 Chevy truck.
The truck was later located near the intersection of 3rd Street and Monroe in Romoland. On Nov. 8, Equihua’s body was located in the area of Juniper Flats Road and Falcon View in Homeland.
Equihua sustained several gunshot injuries that caused his death. The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.
