Court Date for Darlene Flynn Murder Suspect Delayed to Nov. 25

A felony settlement conference for Justin Charles Smith, charged with the murder of Menifee resident Darlene Flynn, has been continued until Nov. 25.

This is the second postponement of court action against Smith, who is accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend Flynn July 22. According to court records, Flynn apparently was beaten with a baseball bat and her body was discovered in her backyard swimming pool.

Smith was seen fleeing the residence and was arrested a short distance away. He entered a not guilty plea to murder charges Aug. 8 in Riverside Superior Court.
