Wednesday at noon is the deadline to enter the contest for free tickets to see Thomas the Tank Engine at the Orange Empire Railway Museum. Have you sent in your entry? Kids need only to draw their best picture of Thomas and send it to us, as described below. Parents are free to help with the drawing and any messages you'd like to pass along. You only have a few hours left!
The "Day Out With Thomas Tour" continues this weekend, Nov. 16-17. This event offers aspiring engineers and their families the opportunity to take a 25-minute ride with the classic story book engine and meet Sir Topham Hatt, the Superintendent of the Railroad on the Island of Sodor.
"Day Out With Thomas" is a great family event and introduces a new generation to the timeless excitement of railroading. The event includes Thomas and Friends storytelling, a meet and greet with Sir Topham Hatt, A Thomas and Friends Imagination Station, a petting zoo, entertainment by Jules Music 4 Kids and caboose train and trolley rides.
You can order tickets here for the event, which is the biggest annual fundraiser for the non-profit Orange Empire Railway Museum. And if you're lucky, you may be going for free! Details below the flier.
Menifee 24/7 is giving away two 4-packs of tickets ($84 value each) for two lucky families to visit Thomas on either Nov. 16 or 17 (your choice). To enter the Menifee 24/7 Thomas the Tank Engine Contest, have your child draw a picture of Thomas and write a few words telling us why he or she would like to have a Day Out With Thomas (you can help the little ones). Then scan your entry or take a picture of it and email the entry to menifee247info@gmail.com. You may also drop off the original copy of your entry at the Sun City Library, 26982 Cherry Hills Blvd.
Deadline for entries is this Wednesday, Nov. 13. We will select two winners:
-- The entry we feel best captures the enthusiasm, creativity and imagination that Thomas the Tank Engine represents.
-- One additional winner, drawn at random.
These winners will each receive four tickets to go see Thomas for FREE!
Please include the full name of the child entering the contest and the adult who submitted the entry. If you drop off an original copy of your entry at the Sun City Library, be sure to include your email address and phone number.
More good news: If you are selected as our winner after you've already purchased tickets to the event from the Orange Empire Railway Museum, you will receive a full refund plus a $10 gift certificate to the Thomas gift shop on site.
