Advertorial Supplement:
At the Children’s Dental Practice of Menifee they seek to educate parents about early treatment and the best ways to keep their children’s teeth healthy. Dr. Ruth Bol has extensive training and education in the pediatric field of dentistry and wants to remind parents that by age two it’s already too late to start preventative care your children really need to see the dentist by the age of one.
The Academy of Pediatrics officially recommends that a child make their first trip to the dentist no later than their first birthday and definitely before the appearance of their first tooth.
After all as they say at the Children’s Dental Practice, “Tiny mouths are a huge deal!”
Because the Children’s Dental Practice wants to create a customized dental experience for each child’s needs, they recognize the importance of starting early and building a positive association with the dentist right from the very first visit. The first impression is key and they want to work with you as the parent to prevent a negative experience and instead provide the very best care possible in a happy environment.
This sets the child up to not only get an early start on oral health but also initiates a lifetime of excellent teeth upkeep, beginning with their very first visit.
The Children’s Dental Practice sets out a list of goals for your child’s first visit, including:
1. To ensure Pediatric Dentist Dr. Bol is properly acquainted with your child.
2. To record tooth and jaw development to start and understand their overall health history.
3. To evaluate the health of the existing teeth and gums.
4. To go over necessary treatment and to answer any questions that you as the parent may have.
5. To advise you how to implement a good oral care routine with your child from an early age.
Dr. Bol and her staff really seek to focus and emphasis the fun aspect of oral care so that children enjoy taking care of their teeth and also look forward to coming to the dentist.
Your child’s first exam takes place knee to knee, which means you get to hold your child to keep them calm and feeling at ease while Dr. Bol exams their mouth. The "knee-to-knee" exam is also for children under 5-years-old and any other child who is unable to sit in the dental chair on their own due to behavioral or medical needs. Having undergone extensive training in child psychology she understands how to work with little ones. The office itself is painted a soothing purple and features games, toys, educational tools and even Deogy, the resident therapy dog. What child wouldn’t want to get their teeth cleaned while petting a cuddly dog?
Their website offers some tips and tricks for preparing your child for their first visit to make it the very best it can be. They encourage you to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have to help make your ongoing relationship with the Children’s Dental Practice a very positive one.

Dental care begins at a young age, placing responsibility on parents to teach good oral hygiene. Proper dental care should be maintained for a lifetime to prevent dental problems from developing. Professional treatment is an important part of dental care for children.

I think it is so important for kids to have good memories of going to the dentist so that they don't develop a fear and end up not getting the treatments they should get it. I usually take my kids to the childrens dentist in Charlotte and they don't have a problem so far. P.S. That dog is adorable.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, teach your kid about importance of health at early stage is a good way to reduce doctor's fear.
