Registration is now being accepted for the third annual Menifee Veterans Memorial 5K run/walk, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9.
The challenging 5K course begins and ends at Wheatfield Park, located at 30627 Menifee Road, and features steep hills and rugged terrain. Check-in begins at 6:45 a.m. and the 5K run/walk starts at 8 a.m.
To participate, runners and walkers must pre-register by Friday, Nov. 8, at www.active.com. The cost is $30 until Oct. 28, when it increases to $35 per person.
The event also includes a Captain America 1K kids’ dash with an easy course that weaves through Wheatfield Park. The cost is $15 per person before Oct. 26, $20 after, and registration is required through www.active.com.
Registration includes a t-shirt and a swag bag, and all finishers will receive “Military Dog Tag” medals. Participants are encouraged to wear Captain America or military-style costumes.
