The Children’s Dental Practice of Menifee is proud to announce their new office administrator, Lois Cogan. Cogan ran a successful local general practice dental office with her late husband Dr. Donald R. Cogan for 15 years. Dr. Cogan was diagnosed with cancer forcing the couple to sell their practice and retire from dentistry. After losing her partner and taking a year to regain her footing, Cogan is excited to jump back into the career she has always loved and eager to do so with Dr. Ruth Bol.
Cogan had been in the dental industry since 1988. Having owned her own practice with her husband, she knows a thing or two about treating people right. Their slogan was ‘your dental office’ letting patients know that their mission was to make everyone feel like family.
“We saw patients from age three to 103,” she shares with a smile. We made sure our patients felt like friends, and it was this same feeling that immediately drew her to Dr. Bol. One of her main missions as a children’s practice dentist is to give patients and their parents a sense of comfort. Cogan admires the friendly and outgoing disposition of Dr. Bol as well as the sincere way in which she treats her patients with care and concern.
Having taken a year to heal Cogan finally feels ready to get back into her passion, and finding such an optimum fit with The Children’s Dental Practice of Menifee sealed the deal. It had taken her that year to decide if she even wanted to get back into dentistry but because it’s what she has done for so long, she just knew she wasn’t through with it yet.
Her years of experience and accommodating demeanor make her an ideal candidate to help elevate this dental practice to the next level of service. Among many things, she will be responsible for handling treatment coordination and marketing and looks forward to being apart of such a welcoming team.
“She really wants what’s best for each child, which really parallels how we used to run our practice,” says Cogan.
The level of comfort she feels going to work for The Children’s Dental Practice is the same feeling she got going to work at her own practice. The positive feeling and energy that The Children’s Dental office elicits is something that makes employees excited to come to work each day and even patients excited to visit the dentist.

"It's a great place to work because of the way the patients are treated, and to me that is huge. It sets up the child for the rest of their life," says Cogan.
