Editor's note: Menifee 24/7 received this letter and photo today from Menifee resident and Sergeant First Class Jason Frahn, who is currently deployed overseas in the U.S. Army. He asked that we publish this letter as a public expression of his love and appreciation for his wife, Amy.
Dear Sir,
I am currently writing this while on tour of duty in Afghanistan. I know this is not breaking news, but I wanted to submit this in the hopes it will not only make my wife smile but give some insight into what an amazing person and Menifee resident Amy Frahn is.
We have been Menifee residents for more than 10 years and are raising three great children here. Some may know Amy as the MVLL and District 28 Challenger Division Coordinator, or as the PTA member, the Cheer coordinator, the Menifee Valley Christmas Dinner coordination assistant, the Team Mom, the Photography student ... the list goes on and on. But most will say they know her as one of the most giving, passionate, and cheerful women they know.
I don’t know anyone who devotes as much time and effort in our community as Amy, and she never expects anything in return. As many may know, being a mother of three is tough, but doing it while your husband is deployed 8,000 miles away and still making time for all her community engagements is truly amazing. Our little city is truly lucky to have her, I am lucky to have her, and if during the call to duty I should not make it back, I wanted everyone to see a little bit of the person I fell in love with 19 years ago.
Oct. 8 was our 19-year wedding anniversary. Obviously I could not be there, and I would like to take a second to say Happy Anniversary to her, and I look forward to 19 more. Thank you for the time and God Bless.

Thanks for publishing this open letter. It should remind every one of us that we are at war and that war affects every nook and cranny of American homes. We may not notice here at home, but know that this war affects families at their very core.
