The public is invited to a special free Open House / Family Fun Art Fair at the Heritage Lake
Clubhouse this Sunday. It's right down McCall Blvd., just past Menifee Road. This
time, Arts Council Menifee is focusing on arts fun for families.
There will be activities for the kids and adults, involving dance, music, poetry, the visual arts and more. See some of the artwork from the ACM summer program at local elementary schools. The Inland Valley Symphony is sending seven young musicians to describe and demonstrate what they do in the Youth Orchestra. Linda Denver will be teaching theater makeup for kids and adults. There will even be a special appearance from a famous Dr. Seuss character for some poetry fun.

A professional cartoonist
will be there, which means even more fun for the kids. Brian Manning of
Murrieta and Cartoon Kaboom has taught many grade schoolers. While he
teaches and entertains the kids, adults will be free to chat with the
Arts Council Trustees about their plans and various activities.
There will also be a silent auction. Pete's Music has donated an Indiana Dreadnaught guitar, estimated value $150-$200. There is no pressure in this auction; just look over things and jot down a bid. You don't have to stay to learn if you win - you will be contacted. Items you might get for a bargain include a Waterford
crystal vase, a Phillips Sonic toothbrush, ornate wine glasses,
restaurant certificates and more. And of course it's all to support a
good cause.
