This month, Arts Council Menifee improved its capabilities with the addition of two Board Trustees. The non-profit organization that promotes the arts in Menifee elected Linda Morrison and Colleen Ackerman to serve on the group’s leadership team.
Morrison, who brings years of professional business experience to the Board, has enjoyed the benefits and opportunities the Arts Council Menifee offers to local painters like herself. Earlier this year, she was honored as a recipient of the group’s "Artist of the Month" award.
Ackerman provides dance and fitness instruction at the MSJC Menifee campus. She looks forward to helping build a Dance Division for the organization. Twice a year, she and her husband Bill host the Menifee Barn Dance, a fun event that collects food donations for the Community Cupboard in Sun City.
"Our Board recognized the character and volunteer spirit in both of these special people. Their addition improves our ability to serve Menifee’s art community," said Bill Zimmerman, president of the organization.
Arts Council Menifee provides numerous opportunities throughout the year for local visual artists, musicians, dancers, writers and theater artists to showcase their talents.
