The City of Menifee will host a general plan open house this Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at City Hall, located at 29714 Haun Road. The community is invited to learn more about the draft General Plan and draft Environmental Impact Report during this event.

Informational stations will be set up with details about the different components of the draft General Plan and draft EIR. City staff will be available for one-on-one conversations to address specific questions regarding the documents.

"The general plan open house is an informal setting for individuals in the community to learn more about the draft General Plan," said Interim Community Development Director Charles LaClaire. "It’s an opportunity for residents and property owners to ask questions and learn exactly how the draft General Plan affects their interests."

As Menifee’s General Plan project nears completion, the draft General Plan and draft EIR documents are available for public review. The mandatory 45-day public comment period for the draft EIR closes on Monday, Oct. 28. All draft EIR comments received during the 45-day public comment period will receive a written response and be included in the final EIR.

Comments will be accepted for both documents up until the City Council’s final action on the general plan, which is anticipated to take place in December.

Public comments should be submitted via email to Interim Community Development Director Charles LaClaire at claclaire@cityofmenifee.us. Comments also may be submitted in letter format to LaClaire and mailed to Menifee City Hall.

The draft General Plan and draft EIR documents are available on the city’s website at www.cityofmenifee.us/generalplan. The draft documents have also been downloaded onto CDs available for purchase at City Hall for $5. Paper copies are available for review at Menifee City Hall, 29714 Haun Road and at the three libraries located in Menifee.

For more information, contact LaClaire at claclaire@cityofmenifee.us or 951-672-6777.
