Fifty drivers were cited and/or arrested for operating a vehicle without a license and one person was arrested for DUI and marijuana possession Friday night in a DUI/Driver's License checkpoint at Highway 74 and Tradewinds drive, Menifee Police reported.
The checkpoint was held between the hours of 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. According to police, checkpoints are placed in locations that have the greatest opportunity for achieving drunk and drugged driving deterrence and provide the greatest safety for officers and the public.
Results of the checkpoint as reported by Menifee Police:
-- 1623 Vehicles Screened
-- 120 Vehicles sent to secondary inspection
-- 4 Field sobriety tests administered
-- 1 DUI-Marijuana suspect arrested
-- 50 Drivers cited/arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed
-- 15 Drivers cited/arrested for operating a vehicle while suspended/revoked
-- 20 Vehicles towed
-- 2 Misdemeanor warrants served
