The driver charged with three felony counts in the death of two Menifee women in a July 7 crash on Domenigoni Parkway is out on $75,000 bail pending a Sept. 25 court hearing.
Noel Mayorga Jr., 38, of Menifee was arrested following the accident by California Highway Patrol officers at Inland Valley Regional Center, where he was taken with injuries sustained when the 2011 Ford Ranger truck he was driving collided with a 1994 Lexus driven by Rosy Vargas, 35, according to police reports.
Mayorga was charged with one count of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, with injury. He was released on bail from the Robert Presley Detention Center on July 31.
According to police, Vargas was traveling northbound on Leon Road when her vehicle was struck by the Ford Ranger, which was traveling at a high rate of speed on Domenigoni. Vargas and a passenger in the front seat, Monica Rochin, 49, were killed instantly. Three passengers in the back seat sustained injuries.
