A second reading and vote on ordinances prohibiting mobile marijuana dispensaries in Menifee and approving a stipend increase for council members will take place during the Menifee City Council meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 29714 Haun Road.
By law, the council must have a second reading and a final vote before adopting these ordinances. Neither previous vote was unanimous, so it's possible the outcome could change.
Council member Tom Fuhrman was the lone dissenting vote on the council's vote to approve the ban on mobile marijuana dispensaries. He may attempt to sway other voters when the issue is considered again in this meeting.
The vote to approve a stipend increase of $150 per month to $650 per month was approved 3-2 in the first vote. Greg August and John Denver voted against that raise in the July 16 meeting.
Also on the agenda for the second time is the appointment of a planning commissioner to fill the vacancy created when August dismissed his appointee, Anne Pica. At the last meeting, August pulled the item from the agenda, saying he needed more time to make a decision.
