Two car washes will be held this weekend to help families of the two Menifee women who were killed and two others who were injured in the July 7 car accident in Winchester at Domenigoni Parkway and Leon Road.
The fundraiser is set to take place on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 at Cal Tan and Beachwear, located at 475 W. Stetson Ave., Hemet, CA 92543 beginning at 7 a.m.
The two women killed have been identified as Monica Rochin, 49, and Rosy Vargas, 35. Selena Monge and her brother Christopher Monge suffered injuries in the crash.
The accident was reported at 11:44 a.m. on July 7. Two vehicles were involved and victims were trapped inside, fire officials said.
Priscilla Monge, the niece of the two women killed, said the family is thankful for all of the support they have received since the accident.
Monge said her family was told a blue SUV may have been racing another vehicle. Monge encourages more witnesses to contact police with details of what they saw.
"We want to ask for more witnesses because [police] still investigating and I know they need more witnesses," said Monge. "So if anyone has any more information, we would like to ask them to come forward."
