The Menifee Police Department's Traffic Unit will conduct a DUI/Driver's License checkpoint on Friday, July 5 between the hours of 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. within the Menifee city limits.
Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment. Drivers caught driving impaired can expect jail, license suspension, and insurance increases, as well as fines, fees, DUI classes, court probation and other expenses that can exceed $10,000.
These DUI checkpoints are placed in locations with the greatest opportunity for achieving drunk and drugged driving deterrence in an effort to reduce the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol or drug related car accidents.

Why is this being announced to the public? Shouldn't this just happen without a warning?

DeleteSometimes just knowing you might get caught makes people behave better and not drink and drive. Such a shame that doing the right thing isn't enough.
