State Amateur Boxing Tournament in Menifee This Weekend

"Menifee's Main Event" is an amateur boxing championship tournament being held here in Menifee this weekend. Amateur boxers of all ages participate in this tournament every year. This is the fifth year it has been put on in Menifee.

Proceeds from this event are donated to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and the Riverside County Boxing Club. This year's event takes place this Saturday, June 8 from noon to 9 p.m. and Sunday, June 9 from 1-8 p.m. at the Valley Wide Park and Recreation Center on La Piedra Road.

Event organizers are expecting around 160 boxers to compete in this year's tournament and attendance of more than 1,200 people coming in for this event from all over California and even out of state. Two boxers from Floyd Mayweather's Gym in Las Vegas will also be competing.

Ticket prices for the event are $20 for ringside seats and $10 for General Admission. Sponsors are still being accepted. For more information, visit:
