The Menifee City Council tonight will consider approval of the city's budget for the upcoming fiscal year, as well as the appointment of several ad hoc committees for economic development.
A balanced budget of $22.6 million was presented to council members during a public study session on June 4. The council will be asked to approve that budget tonight, as well as an agreement with Riverside County Fire to continue contract fire services.
Budget figures presented at the public study session show fire services for the coming year at a cost of $7.2 million, or approximately 32 percent of the city's budget.
Ad hoc committees will be appointed for the following economic development projects:
-- Sun City/Romoland economic development
-- Newport Road (west)/Haun Road corridor economic development
-- Newport Road (east) corridor economic development
-- Scott Road/Rural Development corridor economic development
This is part of Mayor Scott Mann's plan to address key issues in the city's general plan for development in the coming years.
An extension of the moratorium on an ordinance regarding metal shipping containers on residential property also will be considered.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 29714 Haun Road.

Make sure they give themselves a good healthy raise, since they do soooooooo much for this city, oh wait that is they do so much for the developers and businesses that do not reside in the city.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to put up the 'raceway' signs on Holland road west of Murrieta Road, since the stop signs and speed limit signs did so well.
Sun City doesn't even feel like a part of Menifee, yet the road signs say "Menifee Valley." Sun City can't even get sidewalks for the kids to walk, they walk through dirt and weeds.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping this meeting gives enough money for cement and weed killer.
