The next installment of the "Retired, Set, Go!" series, "How to Create your own Backyard Garden," will focus on the importance of eating locally sourced, as well as chemical and GMO free foods.
Girasole Backyard Gardens' Andy Canella will lead the presentation on July 17 at Sun City Library. Canella will address proper soil preparation, garden locations and seasonal crops.
Girasole Backyard Gardens acts as a consultant, providing advice, services and equipment, such as garden beds, to achieve the most benefits from a garden.
According to the Girasole Backyard Gardens website, Canella is a certified Master Gardener through UCCE and a Certified Master Composter through the County of Riverside.
"How to Create your own Backyard Garden" is part of the Hospice of the Valleys' "Retired, Set, Go!" series, a celebration of Hospice of the Valleys' 30th year serving the Sun City community.
