Beginning on Antelope Road in front of Mt. San Jacinto College, runners headed south, with the half marathon runners covering a 13.1-mile course through the rural east portions of the city -- even dirt roads east of Briggs Road.
The City of Menifee was title sponsor for the event, which raised funds for Menifee United Way. All participants received medals and trophies were given out to the top finishers.
Brett Coenen, 18, of Menifee was the overall half marathon winner, finishing in 1:27.08 to win the event for the second straight year. Molly Schreiner, 28, finished second overall to lead all female runners in a time of 1:30.20.
Winner of the 5K run was 15-year-old Matthew Tibbitts in a time of 19:45.7.
