Two Menifee business leaders were honored with special recognition Saturday night at the annual awards dinner of the Inland Valley Business Community Foundation.
Boston Billie's Restaurant, located in the Sun City shopping center, was named IVBCF Business of the Year. Accepting the award was the restaurant's owner, Abraham Rafait. Robbie Motter was named IVBCF Community Leader of the Year for her community work with the Menifee Valley Chamber of Commerce and National Association for Female Executives.
Other nominees from Menifee included the Menifee Valley Chamber of Commerce and NAFE Meniee for Community Organization of the Year; Dorothy Wolons and Brian Walker for Community Leader of the Year; and Jennifer Walker for Educator of the Year.
The event, held at the Pechanga Hotel, included an art auction and fashion show. Brian and Jennifer Walker and their children were models and participated in the awards program when the envelopes were opened. All the winners were presented with a special award and all the nominees were also called to the stage to receive a framed nominee certificate.
Other Menifee Chamber members present at the event were two of the Menifee queens, Ivette Barnett and Sheila Caruso; Menifee’s Got Talent winner Nicole Farrell; Kim Mays from Aces Comedy Club; Ken Dickson; and Ebony Richards of the Chamber staff.
Marie Waite, the Founder/CEO of IVBCF, and her staff were praised for a successful event.
