Update at 5:20: p.m.: SCE reports restoration of power should be taking place momentarily. Many residents have already reported that their power is back on. There still is no reported cause of the outage.
Power outages are being reported throughout Menifee and Canyon Lake. According to Southern California Edison officials, repair crews are investigating but the cause is not known and there is no estimated time for restoration of power.
SCE lists a power outage affecting more than 22,000 people centered near the intersection of Murrieta Road and Newport Road. However, Menifee 24/7 has received reports of outages at Scott Road and Antelope Road, all of Countryside Marketplace and several other locations.

We received a notice from SCE yesterday 4/23 that there would be outages Thursday 4/24 between 8:00am-12:00pm in the area of Menifee Lakes
