Sandy and John Geer took over what is now Pitstop Pub Sports Bar and Grill a little over three year ago, and they haven’t stopped renovating, revamping, and improving their restaurant ever since. With new ownership also came new management, a new menu, and a plethora of new ideas.
The fully renovated interior space now boasts four 55-inch flat screens above the bar, with 18 all new televisions total throughout the restaurant. Appropriately enough, sports are always on at Pitstop Sports Bar. UFC is featured at least once a month on the big screen and always packs the house. Now that it’s officially baseball season, you can catch all televised MLB games too.
The previous 10-foot, 16-tap handle bar has been expanded to an impressive 20 feet of seating and 24 taps of ice cold beer as well as hard liquor. The improved patio now allows you to enjoy drinks and food outside, with plenty of seating space.
A completely new menu offers up your choice of pizzas to make your mouth water as well as a wide variety of other American classics. Their Mexican pizza piled high with carne asade and the Pitstop spicy buffalo chicken pizza are two popular favorites.
“Everyone loves our wings, you just can’t beat our wings!” says Geer.
Each day features a deal off the menu as well as drink specials:
Monday: Angus burger and fries for just $6.50.
Taco Tuesday: Featuring $1.25 tacos.
Wing Wednesday: Half pound of Pitstop wings for $6.00.
Thursday: $3 off any large specialty pizza.
They’ve also added a band area with entertainment all week long. Come in and sing karaoke two nights a week, on both Wednesday and Thursday night. Local bands rock the house every Friday night. Saturday night dance party kicks off at 9 p.m. until 1:30 a.m. with a professional DJ spinning hip hop, classic rock, and even a little country to get your toes tapping.
Pitstop features five top of the line Diamond pool tables for your playing pleasure. Three pool leagues play Monday through Thursday and Saturdays host eight, nine, and 10-ball pool tournaments.
Aside from upgrades inside and out, “Customer service is number one at Pitstop,” explains Sandy Geer. As a mom and pop neighborhood bar, the Geers love to interact with their customers and strive to offer a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
“We love people, we love sports, we love pool,” continues Geer.
