Mt. San Jacinto College’s Financial Aid Office will conduct an “I Can Afford College” workshop, a state-sponsored campaign to increase awareness about financial aid opportunities, on Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Menifee Valley Campus, 28237 La Piedra Road, in room 927.
Hands-on assistance will be available to students and parents completing the 2013-2014 application process. The goal of this event is to let students and the community know that:
-- California Community Colleges are affordable.
-- Financial Aid is available to cover enrollment fees and help with other costs such as books, supplies, and living expenses.
-- Financial aid experts are available to provide free assistance in filling out their FAFSA application.
This is a no-cost event that will provide a wealth of information about financial aid programs to help make college affordable. Targeting high school seniors, current MSJC students, and the community as a whole, this event will get the word out that it is not too late to apply for the 2013-2014 academic year. Many are unaware of their eligibility for financial aid at community colleges.
For more information, contact Tanisha Bradfield in the Financial Aid Office at 951-639-5241 or tbradfield@msjc.edu.
