Children interested in books, poetry and storytelling will be treated to a full day of fun next Tuesday, April 30, when the Sun City Library hosts a read-a-thon from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Adults wearing silly hats and other themed costumes will take half-hour shifts reading poetry out loud to the children in attendance. The event is a celebration of Day of the Child / Day of the Book and Poetry Month.

Children will hear all kinds of poetry - the rhyme, the sounds, the beat, the magic of words joined together in new and different ways. There will be 15 guest readers.

The event is free at the Sun City Library, located at 26982 Cherry Hills Blvd.
