Superintendent Jonathan Greenberg (left) and other employees of the Perris Union High School District received the People's Choice Award. |
Members of the Menifee Valley Chamber of Commerce, city officials, school district officials and others joined in a celebrity karaoke event Friday night to raise funds for the Menifee Valley Community Cupboard.
The Community Cupboard and thrift shop is a nonprofit organization that collects donations of food from markets, organizations and individuals for redistribution to those in need. The Cupboard accepts donations of money, which is used to purchase stocks of food items and to operate its distribution facility.
The event, held at the California Golf and Art County Club in the Sun City community of Menifee, featured karaoke acts that were voted on by judges. Residents and businesses paid an admission fee and provided table sponsorships, and a silent auction was held.
