Name: Black Jack
Breed: Dachshund/ Cocker Spaniel Mix
Age: 7 years, neutered
Black Jack's story: Black Jack's owners turned him in to a local shelter, saying they were moving and couldn't keep him. He was saved from euthanasia at the shelter. Black Jack is considered a hard-to-adopt dog because he is black, mixed breed, and older. He didn't stand a chance at the shelter, but we think he deserves to live and find a happy home just the same as the other more desirable dogs.
Vital Stats: Black Jack is a mixed breed dog who does not look like any particular breed of dog, but DNA test results reveal his ancestry is Dachshund, American Eskimo, Cocker Spaniel and Mixed Breed through grandparents. He stands 15-16 inches at the shoulders and weighs approximately 30 pounds. Handsome Black Jack is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, house trained and microchipped.
Temperament: He is a sweetheart who gets along well with cats and other dogs. He loves to play and will go get his ball or toy for you to play with him. He likes to go for walks and car rides. Black Jack would do well in a home without children or with older children. He is a pleasure to have around-- a nice, likeable, friendly dog who still has many years of love and companionship to give.
