The Riverside County Board of Supervisors is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in the double murder of two women in Nuevo Feb. 4.
The motion to offer the reward was made by Fifth District Supervisor Marion Ashley and unanimously approved by the board at its Feb. 13 meeting. The Riverside Sheriff's Department continues to seek the assistance of the community in locating the person responsible for the deaths of Connie and Maria Gonzalez.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help. Persons with information about this incident should contact Investigator Josh Button of the Riverside County Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit at 760-393-3531 or Investigator Steven Grassel of the Riverside County Sheriff's Hemet station at 951-791-3405.
Citizens may also use the anonymous tip line on the Sheriff's Department web site to provide information.
The murders occurred around 5 p.m. on Feb. 4 on Central Avenue near the cross street of Ramona Avenue in Nuevo. The suspect was described as a Hispanic Male, 17-25 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, medium to thin build, very short dark hair to shaved head, wearing jeans (gray, blue or black in color), and a gray or dark-colored hooded style jacket over his head. This subject was last seen running west on Central towards Menifee Road and then possibly south on Menifee Road.
