Drifting along with the tumbling tumbleweeds.
This is no mythical cowboy tune -- at least in Menifee. When the wind kicked up on Thursday, the tumbleweeds did their thing. All over town. In parking lots, gutters and right through traffic.
This stretch of McCall Blvd. east of Hillpointe Drive is located right across a vacant field filled with -- you guessed it -- tumbleweeds. Motorists did their best to avoid the moving freaks of nature as the roadside became a tumbleweed gallery. Some were huge, as this one next to a stoplight shows.
"Menifee in Pictures" is a new daily feature of Menifee 24/7. As we travel around town, we'll collect bits and pieces of the scenery that makes Menifee unique. We invite readers to send us their own photos of Menifee -- whether it be a beautiful sunset, field of horses, well-known structures in town, etc.
Email your photos as a .jpg file to doug.spoon@gmail.com and we'll select one for publication each day, along with your name as the photographer. Please include your full name on the submission and any explanation about where and when the photo was taken.
