Happy New Year, Menifee!
As always, a new year means a fresh start. At Menifee 24/7, it also signals a changing of the guard of sorts.
As of today, Shelli Stovall and I are the new owners of Menifee's online source for news, having purchased Menifee 24/7 from its founder, Steve Johnson. Steve and Tina Walker, the driving force behind this website, developed something special here. Shelli and I hope to build upon that foundation of success.
Though relative newcomers to the area, we're familiar faces to many of you. Shelli and her husband David moved to Menifee with their children less than a year ago. My wife Kristen and I moved here about 14 months ago. For most of the time since then, Shelli and I have devoted our time to Menifee 24/7 -- Shelli as sales account manager and me as a staff writer and most recently editor.
Today, as co-owners of Premier Media Group with our spouses, Shelli and I are excited to continue the tradition and to expand our coverage in ways that will inform and entertain you, the readers.
Check in with us each day to see what's happening in your community and what others are saying about it. Join in the conversation by leaving personal comments. In addition to our continuing coverage of city politics, the arts, local businesses and interesting people in the community, we will soon be adding new features designed to appeal to an even wider audience. Stay tuned for details.
Shelli will continue to head the advertising and marketing department, while I continue to serve as editor and chief writer for the staff. Together with our returning staff members, we welcome contributions from others as well as your ideas for how we can improve this site.
Once again, Happy New Year and best of luck to everyone in Menifee and beyond. We hope to see and hear from you often.
