The Sun City Civic Association will host its annual Holiday Open House Saturday from 2-4 p.m. The organization holds this event each holiday season to provide a variety of entertainment for over 5,000 citizens who live within the core of Sun City.
Bill Rhoads, a local country-western musician, writer of limericks, and Vietnam Veteran, will showcase his talents at the event alongside several other forms of entertainment, such as a line dance group performance. Rhoads will lead the group in Christmas Carols to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
Rhoads and his wife Rose are active members of the community. Rose jump started the local Quilting Club, which recently presented a Quilt of Valor to a Winchester veteran who lost both an arm and a leg in Iraq. Bill also performed for a benefit created to try and build the wounded veteran a handicapped accessible home.
Bill has done much for the veteran community, including writing his own song dedicated to the troops, entitled “Remember Me the Fallen Soldier.”
“We both just try to help out in the community as much as we can,” Rose said.
To find out more about Bill and his involvement in the community, please visit Bill’s official website. This site includes free downloads of Bill’s music and gives you the chance to purchase his CD and support a local musician.
The event will be held at North Town Hall off of Sun City Blvd.
