The high school football seasons for both Heritage High School and Paloma Valley ended with losses in the CIF semifinals Friday night. All in all, however, both the Patriots and Wildcats had impressive seasons.
Heritage, which lost a 13-7 decision to Kaiser, finished the season with an 11-2 record. The Patriots won the Sunbelt League championship.
Kaiser held Heritage running back Jamal Morrow to 47 yards rushing and stopped the Patriots offense twice in the Kaiser end of the field late in the game.
Paloma Valley, which lost a 35-28 heartbreaker to Rancho Verde, made a great comeback late in the season to earn an at-large playoff berth and make it all the way to the semifinals.
The Wildcats cut the deficit to a touchdown late in the game Friday night with a 23-yard TD pass from Brent Boehm to CJ Parker. Paloma Valley got the ball back with 1:16 left, but Boehm was intercepted a few plays later.
Boehm passed for 188 yards. David Solis ran for 191 yards.
