The Paloma Valley High School football team improved its overall record to 7-3 Friday night with a 56-7 rout of Lakeside. The Wildcats won't know until Sunday whether that was good enough to earn them a CIF Southern Section playoff berth, however.
David Solis rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns for Paloma Valley, which opened the season 5-0 but finished Sunbelt League 2-4.
Paloma Valley scored six touchdowns by halftime and had the game locked up early. Steven Mayo had two scores for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats could get into the playoffs as an at-large entry. Playoff pairings will be announced by the CIF-SS office Sunday morning.
