Santa Rosa Academy Charter School will host its official groundbreaking ceremony this Saturday, Oct. 13 at 8 a.m. The event will take place at the school construction site, located at the intersection of La Piedra Road and Haun Road in Menifee, across from Lowe's.
Santa Rosa will be celebrating the first stage in the construction of a state-of-the-art $23 million school on 25 acres in Menifee. The new campus will ultimately contain approximately 150,000 square feet of school buildings, including a technology center, performing arts center and athletic facilities serving more than 1,000 students in grades K-12. The site was chosen for its proximity to the future center of the City of Menifee and its central location to the area served by the school.
"We are ecstatic about finally moving forward to create our new home in what will be the new center of the City of Menifee," said Santa Rosa Principal Laura Badillo. "We appreciate the ongoing support of the city’s leaders and staff as we move forward to create a facility and school community that will continue to make this area of the Inland Empire a top choice for families."
Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Stone is one of many supporters of the project.
"Santa Rosa Academy has a history of offering quality education for our children at a time when California ranks 49th out of 50 on test scores. It is refreshing to see growth of serious education happening in this community. We are delighted to see them locate in the Menifee Town Center," said Stone.
