After going dark during the summer months, the Menifee Valley Historical Association will hold its first meeting of the fall season this Saturday, Sept. 15 at 9:30 a.m. at the Haun Road commmunity center.
Association President Elinor Martin, a lifelong resident of the Menifee area, will give a presentation about the history of schools in Menifee. She will display photos of old school buildings and show their location in relation to current schools. She will also discuss the memories of school children from decades past.
This group includes long-time residents of the area with vast knowledge of Menifee's history to share with others. Newcomers to the area are also urged to attend, participate and help preserve the legacy of the Menifee Valley.
Memberships are available, but visitors are welcome at any meeting. Meetings take place at the community at 31850 Haun Road, just north of Garbani Road.
