An unstable weather front has created problems in the Menifee Valley this afternoon, including reports of down poles and power lines in the northeast portion of the valley in Nuevo.

At 4:30 p.m., the Riverside County Fire Department first responded to the incident, which was initially reported as a tornado but later updated to a "severe weather event." According to the report, one vehicle was temporarily stranded and six occupants were assisted to a safe location.

Southern California Edison crews are on site to make repairs, specifically on Ramona Expressway, which was temporarily shut down. For road closure information, visit the CHP website at www.chp.ca.gov.
