Pool Leagues, Tournaments Are Heating Up at Pitstop Pub

Ready for a game of pool? Head on over to the Pitstop Pub, a great place to rack 'em up while enjoying good food, beverages and entertainment.

Bar patrons have fun playing the game on one of the pub's five Diamond Predators pool tables -- the same kind of tournament tables used in Las Vegas. They often get pretty competitive, too.

Pitstop Pub sponsors pool leagues Monday through Thursday, when the tables are active with patrons who enjoy the fun and socialization of the game on a regular basis. Players have another opportunity to compete on Saturdays, when an open tournament is held.

"You've got to drive into Orange County to find a league set-up like this," said John Geer, owner of Pitstop Pub. "Come in on Saturday and check out the action. We've even had the five-time wheelchair world champion play here."

While awaiting their turn at the pool table, patrons can enjoy a variety of sports events on the pub's 14 TV screens, including four new 55-inch LED screens. With football season open us, Pitstop Pub is a popular place to watch a game.

Other entertainment includes open mic night on Tuesday, karaoke on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, and live bands on Friday nights. All this takes place in a space that has been increased from 1,600 square feet to 3,200 square feet.

The addition of new kitchen equipment has enabled the pub to increase its menu. Pizza is now served in addition to the usual food specials, which includes burgers; $1 tacos on Tuesdays and Thursdays; hot wings; and fish and chips. Drink specials are offered at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

A variety of hard liquor is available in addition to many varieties of beer and wine.
