Heritage High School and Paloma Valley High will both be on the road tonight for their second football games of the season.
Heritage plays a 7 p.m. game at Rancho Verde, last year's CIF-SS Central Division champion, in Moreno Valley. The Patriots won their season opener last week, 32-6 at San Jacinto, while Rancho Verde was upset at home by Elsinore, 46-42.
Paloma Valley hits the road for a 7 p.m. game at Sultana High School of Hesperia. The Wildcats will try to build on the momentum of their 54-6 victory over San Bernardino last week. Sultana will be playing its first game of the season.
Heritage will rely on a high-powered offense led by its new starting quarterback, Mat Bradshaw, who threw for a touchdown in the season opener and directed a running attack led by Jamal Morrow (11 carries, 150 yards, 1 TD). Another key player tonight will be Darius Allensworth, who caught a touchdown pass and returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown last week.
In Hesperia, Paloma Valley will look to continue the offensive firepower it displayed last week at home. Leading the way once again will be quarterback Brent Boehm, who passed for 175 yards and five touchdowns, and running back David Solis, who ran for 96 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver and defensive back Marcus Page is questionable because of an ankle injury.
