Greg August Tuesday became the second candidate to qualify for the November Menifee city election. City clerk Kathy Bennett confirmed that August has been certified by the Riverside County Registrar of Voters as a city council candidate in District 1, which covers most of Sun City in the northwest portion of Menifee.
August joins Bill Zimmerman, who qualified Friday as a candidate in District 3, as the only candidates who have been certified for the ballot. Candidates must submit their paperwork and be certified by Friday.
A 23-year resident of Menifee, August is a regular at city council meetings and has been a vocal opponent of those on the council who are in favor of further development in the city.
Prior to Tuesday night's city council meeting, August declined to comment on his candidacy, saying he would release a statement on Friday after nominations are closed.

ReplyDeleteI agree great news for District one and Mr. August is not against further development in the city but is for smart slow development that does not destroy the rural areas of the city
