A brush fire in the hills west of Murrieta has burned 200 acres, according to Riverside County Fire officials.
The location is reported as Tenaja Road and Via Volcano, near the La Cresta/DeLuz area. It is 0 percent contained at this point and is threatening the community of La Cresta. A total of 188 fire personnel are on the scene.
Update at 4:50 p.m.:
Riverside County Fire reports the fire has covered 400 acres. KCAL Channel 9 reports one house destroyed with firefighters beginning to gain control over the fire.
