The public is invited to a meeting Thursday night in which an initial study regarding the city's planned Environmental Impact Report will be discussed.
The 7 p.m. meeting at City Hall will allow residents an opportunity to hear details of the study and ask questions regarding the EIR, which is required as part of the development of the City of Menifee General Plan.
As required by law, Menifee's General Plan will include elements of land use, circulation, housing, conservation, open space, noise and safety. Land use and housing elements have previously been approved by the city council.
Potential impacts to be addressed in the EIR include aesthetics, air quality, geology and soils, hazardous materials, housing, noise and traffic. This meeting takes place during the required 30-day public review period, which will last until Aug. 10.
Residents are invited to ask questions about how the city's future plans will impact the local environment.

This is pointless. I've attended meetings and given input that coincides with the majority of the residents. Needless to say, it fell on deaf ears!
ReplyDeleteThis is our opportunity to participate in a public process and understand the environmental review of the city's general plan. I plan to attend this meeting to be better informed. I have attended city workshops and have always walked away feeling I have learned something.
