This year's celebration was the largest ever, thanks to a combined effort from the Lake Menifee Women's Club, Valley Wide Parks and Recreation, and the City of Menifee.
The highlight of the event was the fireworks show at 9:03pm. But everyone seemed to think the concert was the biggest draw. Bill Gould of
Full Value Entertainment was instrumental in helping to put together the stage and sound system and gathering together a line up of talent.
Thousands of people brought chairs and blankets in front of the stage and listened to such acts like Universal Trap and Rachael Stark Band while waiting for the pyrotechnics to begin.
Dozens of food vendors grilled up chicken, ribs, tacos, and burgers, while kids enjoyed a water slide, jumping rooms, and a face painting station.
Councilmembers Darcy Kuenzi and Sue Kristjansson joined up with Planning Commissioner Bill Zimmerman to gather feedback from residents on what they feel should be the city's next priorities, while the City of Menifee laid out a table-length sheet of paper and allowed residents to write what new amenities they want to see.
