There has been much speculation concerning the future of that giant, yet still vacant, Albertson’s building on Newport at Murrieta Road. Well the long and short of it remains the same, there has been interest but still no serious buyers.
As it stands, Albertson’s still owns the building and will continue to keep the property on the market under the real estate management of Springstead and Associates. Springstead & Associates specializes in working with well-known retail chains to help them either acquire and expand, or reposition and dispose of existing retail sites.
Although this particular location in Menifee was not optimal for Albertson’s, S & A continues to look for the right fit for the space taking into account many variables to ensure the next tenant’s success.
While it appears the building was simply boarded up and forgotten, there is actually a team of professionals working to fill the void. Using knowledge compiled of Menifee’s local market and surrounding shopping centers and current retailers the city can rest assured a new business will be coming to Menifee, it’s just not yet clear what that retailer may be.
The Albertson’s building at 21600 Newport Road is still actively for sale, any interested parties should contact Springstead and Associates.

A Joanne craft store would be good!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be a great location for an business like Trevi in Lake Elsinore, Bowling, game rooms, restaurants, etc.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.trevientertainmentcenter.com/
How about a Trader Joes !
ReplyDeleteI hear Stater Brothers is moving there. They own the building they are currently in, and will be renting it out to a Hispanic market. I don't recall the name off hand.
ReplyDeleteTrader joes would be awesome:-)!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been touting since Albertsons closed to put in a Trader Joes. If not maybe a Henry's, Sprouts or Whole Foods. Something that can appeal to all generations; whether its for organic items, or as we get older a need for unprocessed foods, low sodium or gluten free. It would be a alternative to Staters or Ralphs. We need high quality stores and shops in Menifee.
ReplyDeleteTrader Joes or Fresh and Easy
ReplyDeleteHow about a Cardenas market?!............... Not!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI heard Cardenas Mexican market was going to take it over
ReplyDeleteLOVE Denis Nurmela's idea of a bowling alley or some form of entertainment going in there. We have plenty of grocery stores around here, can we please get something for our kids to do. I don't mind driving to Temecula or Murrieta for entertainment, but it would be so nice to REALLY stay local.
ReplyDeleteTraDer joes or sprouts Henry's any kind of organic good for you market !! Pretty please
ReplyDeleteTrader joes or Fresh &Easy.....something good!!
ReplyDeleteA movie theatre or skating ring would be great!
ReplyDeleteTrader Joes.. they would score on that main Newport Rd. We need a shop like that!
ReplyDeleteIt doesnt really make sense for stater bros to allow another super market to move in and have the compitition. I doubt that would happen. also even though I drive to perris to cardenas occasionally I cant see one doing very well in menifee.
ReplyDeleteWe NEED a movie theater!!
ReplyDeleteWe need afood store that supplies fresh and organic and locally grown selections such as Henry's (now Sprouts), Trader Joes. This area has a significant of the elderly (55+ community), sick, and health conscious people that want to improve their health or significantly improve their maladies by eating well.
ReplyDeleteMovies, movies, movies!
ReplyDeleteTrader Joes please! I work at fantastic sams next door such a sad looking center. We need something to bring more foot traffic.
ReplyDeleteI think a Cardenas would be great.... we have to drive to lake elsinore, perris or even temecula to get some nice carne asada,,, thier prices are really good they have so much to offer and thier produce is always fresh and cheap
ReplyDeletemovies theater, skating rink or bowling just something for the kids/family would be nice!!!
ReplyDeleteWe've never need security for parking lots in Menifee. We will if Cardenas moves into the building. I'm against that.
ReplyDeleteI think a skating rink or movie theater would be great. It should be something that is for kids and families. It could provide jobs for teens, place for birthday parties, midnight skates for adults...there's all sorts of possibilities. With schools doing away with gym classes, this would be a great way to exercise for the whole family.
ReplyDeleteSomething for the kids to do would be nice, maybe a pool room for the adults too!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see a Trader Joes or Sprouts come to Menifee.
ReplyDeletePlease bring a Trader Joes or Henry's to that location
ReplyDeleteAnything social would be amazing.
ReplyDeleteBowling, arcade, movies, skating, laser tag, etc...
We need something local to keep the kids busy and out of trouble.
That store is HUGH, perhaps the owners can divide the store into two halfs, and be able to rent it out that way rather than having it sit empty. Altho, remember Newport is going to be a busy road for all in the valley, NOT just Menifee folks. You will have lots of folks commute across to reach the I-15 and beyond, we as a city need to capture their business by presenting the right stores for them to stop and shop, bringing more 'revenue' into the City of Menifee. I'd like to see Trader Joes or Henry on the east side of the freeway, a good deli too where you can sit outside and enjoy a great sandwich in a great atmosphere. We need restaurants where you can sit outside and enjoy this beautiful valley we live in, not just on a sidewalk, but a regular sitting area.
ReplyDeleteI would love a Trader Joe's or Sprouts. Even Whole Foods would be great. I think any one of those stores would do an amazing amount of business.
ReplyDeleteCardenans Market is coming to Menifee!!! yes!! need a job? well there you have it.. great store, welcome it anyday..open open open
ReplyDeleteWe sure don't need a Cardenas, they are putting one in Elsinore, that is close enough ! We need a healthy choice in this area...I would like to see a Whole Foods go in. With all the talk of an epidemic of obesity in our country, we need to have a healthy alternative to buy our food from...Henrys and Sprouts are great. But they are close enough to get to if needed by most. But especially for the seniors in the area who can't travel far, I think a Whole Foods market is most needed.
ReplyDeleteWhole Foods would be fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI think we could have a 99@ store. The one in Elsinore, i'm sure is the busiest busness in town.
