A vegetation fire covering a quarter acre just southwest of the intersection of Murrieta Road and Holland Road in Menifee was quickly contained by Riverside County firefighters Thursday afternoon.
According to a release from the Riverside County Fire Department, four fire engines responded to the location in the 25500 block of Corson Avenue near Hawthorne Street. Two vehicles and four outbuildings were damaged, but no injuries were reported. The fire was called in at 2:05 p.m. and was considered contained by 2:41.
One overhead unit from CAL Fire also responded, as did Riverside County Sheriff's deputies, who provided crowd and traffic control.
