Generally the first stop after adopting a new (pet) friend from the shelter is a trip to some sort of pet supply store for dog care essentials.
Animal Friends of the Valleys decided to make things a little easier on adopting parents and opened a pet boutique right in the lobby of their Wildomar location.
Rascal’s Boutique, as the store is called, stocks a wide range of affordable pet necessities including everything from food and beds, to crates and clothes.
This competitvely priced boutique is twice as nice as most pet stores because all proceeds go back into AFV to benefit the animals.
Rascal’s is conveniently open during regular shelter hours and always staffed by a friendly AFV volunteer.
The organization’s executive director, Willa Bagwell, saw an opportunity to serve people even more than they already do and so, put the boutique idea into action.
In addition, Animal Friends of the Valleys has teamed up with Iams to offer customers an incentive program. When you purchase seven bags of Iams brand food, the eighth bag is free.
The specialty shop earned its title from AFV’s mascot, a hound named Rascal. Open for just five weeks so far, it has already seen serious success. This one stop adopt-and-shop makes the pet adoption process easier than ever.
