In honor of National Puppy day today we have the tiniest little puppy available for adoption. Most of the pets that come to Sun City K9 are older in age, so we can bet this six-month-old sweetheart won’t be available for very long.
Adoptable pet of the week, Penny.
Name: Penny
Breed: Yorkshire terrier & Pomeranian mix
Age: 6 months
Gender: Female, spayed
Temperament: Penny is an absolute sweetheart. At only 6 months old she is full of puppy energy and loves to cuddle. She adores people, other dogs, and even cats. She is extremely playful and loving, and very smart too.
Penny’s story: Penny was relinquished to Sun City K9 Adoptions by her elderly owner because she could no longer care for her. Puppy’s need great amounts of attention and care and her owner could not physically handle Penny.
Penny will be at Petco in Countryside Marketplace this weekend along with some of her other friends from SCK9. Sun City K9 hosts pet adoptions every week at Petco, on Saturday from 9:30 AM until 2:30 PM and on Sunday from 10:00 AM until 2:30 PM.
Remember when adopting pets from any rescue, it will take a little bit of time for them to adjust to their new environment. Be patient and give them enough time to familiarize themselves with your home and to learn what you expect of them.
Dogs are people pleasers by nature; they want to make their owners happy. If you show your new pet kindness while teaching them where to potty, eat, sleep, and play they will become an integrated part of your family.
