Sunday’s local arts reception put on by the Arts Council Menifee was successful for both those in attendance as well as the featured artists on display.
This first time event drew an impressive crowd of just over one hundred fifty interested locals. The eleven artists present were delighted to be able to show off their work to such a solid attendance.
During the two-hour reception six writers and several fine artists shared their work, while harpist Sarah Bierle and singer Hannah Marley performed on stage. Two special guests made an appearance including Mayor John Denver and actor Dave Adams.
Since the Arts Council’s inception their mission has been “to bring the arts to the community of Menifee and local artists to the public”, and they have been successful in doing so through various events, such as this particular public reception. Each event garners a few more members and helps to grow the council’s non-profit reach.

After ACM President Dawn Prather and ACM Vice President Linda Denver made their opening remarks, Mayor John Denver went on to express the City of Menifee’s appreciation and support for their cause.
Each attendee received a peacock feather, symbolizing the Arts Council’s logo, generously donated by Wickerd Farms. In addition, various prizes donated from around the community were raffled off to eager recipients.
