During particularly cold and windy days we seem to experience a newfound gratefulness for our warm houses and sturdy walls. What we tend to overlook, however, are the dozens of homeless animals sheltered without such cozy quarters.

Adoptable pet of the week, Luna.
Name: Luna
Breed: Lab mix
Age: 2 years old
Gender: Female, spayed
Temperament: Luna may be small in size, but she certainly has a great big heart. She is one of those gentle loving soles, sure to add warmth and friendship to any home. Her extra affectionate personality ensures she will always want to be right by your side.
Luna’s Story: This sweet Lab was relinquished less than a month ago, on November 8, 2011. Her owner was expecting a new baby and could no longer afford to take care of both Luna and a little one.
Luna has enjoyed playing with her new shelter friends but would really love to find her forever home in time for the holidays.
Sun City Adoptions is open seven days a week to serve you. Feel free to stop on by and see the animals. They also bring select adoptable darlings to the Petco at Countryside Marketplace each Saturday from 9 am until 2:30 pm and on Sunday from 10 am until 2:30 pm.
Sun City K9 attributes their ability to serve so many animals to the generosity and contributions of the community. During this time of year they are especially in need of donated warm blankets and towels.
